Netherlands Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuania

HighTechXL Impact Day 2016 Vilnius

September 13, the Netherlands Embassy in Lithuania looks back on a successful HighTechXL Impact Day, which was held in Vilnius. The Impact Day is a follow-up of the successful Dutch participation in LOGIN 2016, the largest annual tech and innovations festival in the Baltics.

The embassies of the Netherlands in the three Baltic States have identified four economic priority sectors for their activities: water management, sustainable energy, transport and logistics, and creative industries. As with regards to the latter, the Netherlands Embassy to Lithuania expressed their interest in the Impact Day event and supported HighTechXL when organising the event.

The Impact Days are half day sessions specifically designed for hardware start-up founders who want to boost their business case. During a 3-minute pitch the start-ups presented their innovations where after they had one-on-one sessions with experienced mentors from various fields, e.g. industry experts, investors and experienced entrepreneurs. The mentors provided in-depth feedback on the creative ideas and potential business models. This inspiring day was held in the stimulating environment of the International School of Management Innovators Base. During this event BZN Start and Verslo žinios interviewed HighTechXL which is in the global top-5 for high impact incubators.

In addition to the event, the Embassy organised activities for HighTechXL representatives to experience the start-up environment in Lithuania. For example ISM Innobase start-ups space, Technarium and Vilnius Tech Park which aims to be one of the largest start-up hubs in the region were visited.

By all 12+ start-ups, 13 mentors, start-up ecosystem stakeholders such as Startup Lithuania, Startup.lt, Kaunas University of Technology Start-up Space and Vilnius Municipality this event was considered to be a great success. The Embassy looks forward to continue being instrumental in this field for stakeholders on both sides and persistently strengthening the Dutch-Lithuanian ties.
